Getting Started

I'm very excited to continue or unit on Self-Study/Learning.
Here's what I think will be a fair assessment method.
Let me know what you think.

Every two weeks each student needs to show evidence of learning by giving their own TEDx style lecture/presentation/demonstration either to class or at assembly.
That will cover your Listening/Speaking Evidence of Learning and satisfy one of our goals: "Learning by Doing." A weekly podcast would also fulfill this requirement.

For Writing, I need some EOL (Evidence of Learning) of writing every week to evaluate.
Writing samples may be accumulative (example a diary or a blog), but they still need to be formal (i.e. grammar counts). Eight Hundred words - every two weeks seems like a good amount for you guys to shoot for. So, I suggest you write everything in a Microsoft word document (for a word count). And show it to me once a week.
For reading...every Friday you may submit notes, summaries, vocabulary lists, essays, etc. for me to see in class as proof of reading.
Remember the following:
What do I want to learn about my topic?
What do I want to do with this information?
REMEMBER OUR FIRST PRINCIPLES
Reading     Writing     Listening     Speaking     Vocabulary
Our goals:     Self-Learning     Self-exploration     Learning by Doing     Community Building
